Reclaiming Structural Wood at Scale: From Airship Hangar to Portfolio Reuse

This white paper documents the process for a unique and challenging project—deconstructing a WWII airship hangar and salvaging some of the historic timber for reuse on Google campuses. Today, Hangar 3 wood lives on as part of modern structural mass timber applications and through many aesthetic finish applications, including in public-facing settings.
